So “are they or aren’t they” news can get a little tiresome, but every so often a couple comes along that makes you clutch your heart and believe in hopes, dreams and all those things movies have taught us. Enter: Jake Gyllenhaal and Rashida Jones, who may or may not be the industry’s cutest new thing.
Spotted at Cafe Gratitude in Los Angeles on Sunday, the actor and actress enjoyed a lunch and hangout with Jake’s puppy, Atticus. True, the two have reportedly been friends for some time (and were joined by pals for food), but after a summer that’s brought us news like Blake and Leonardo (I mean, come on), a potential relationship between two really talented, adorable people makes you forget that Courtney Stodden and her 50-something-year-old husband have become a thing.
It also adds to the legacy of Ms. Jones, who’s been earning accolades for her turn in the recent Our Idiot Brother, as well as an ever-expanding fanbase thanks to playing Amy Poehler’s BFF on the soon-to-return Parks and Recreation.
Needless to say, regardless of whether she and Gyllenhaal are actually together, everything’s coming up Rashida. (But wouldn’t it be the best if they really are dating?)
