Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony Call It Quits

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony have put an end to their seven-year marriage, telling People: “We have decided to end our marriage. This was a very difficult decision. We have come to an amicable conclusion on all matters.”

JLo and Marc went on to say: “It is a painful time for all involved. And we appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time.”

And privacy we should give them, since this separation/divorce definitely comes at quite a shock. After all, it’s been only a few weeks since the two made a very public appearance on the season finale of American Idol, but as history as taught us, nobody can see behind closed doors.

However, while divorce is quite the common situation in the very dramatic Hollywood, the marriage’s end is still sad and surprising considering the two have 3-year-old twins, and were only married for seven years.

Here’s hoping that everything stays civil and that the two remain friends. After all, they’ve got much more than just a seven-year history.
