Beauty Essentials You Need To Survive The Next Heat Wave

The heat is no friend to beauty. Makeup meltdown, flat and/or frizzy hair, and parched or oil slick skin are just a few of the not-fun, no good things we get to deal with in the summer. You, on the other hand, have been the middleman, trying to figure out how to solve all those issues. Luckily for you, we’ve rounded up the hot weather beauty essentials you’ll need to put an end to the summer beauty battle.

Aveda Sun Care Protective Hair Veil ($38)

This lightweight, UV-defense spray provides protection from sun exposure for up to 16 hours. The unique blend of green tea extract, organic sunflower oil and UVA/UVB filters derived from wintergreen and cinnamon bark oils help protect and defend against sun damage and free radicals. It’s great for those days spent lounging at the pool.

VICHY Idéal Soleil Sport ($30)

Sweat and water are sunscreen enemies as they encourage rub-off and reduce its protective effects. Enter Vichy’s Idéal Soleil Sport, which is sweat and water-resistant, has an SPF of 60 and can be used on the face and body (even on sensitive skin). This ultra-light lotion quickly absorbs without leaving white streaks and can be reapplied onto wet and sweaty skin, offering protection for up to 80 minutes.

Jergens Moisturizer for Wet Skin with Argan Oil ($11)

When you’re pressed for time (and who isn’t?) but still want to hydrate your skin post-shower, this moisturizer is a game-changer. Jergens Moisturizer for Wet Skin is meant to applied to skin when it’s wet (when its most receptive to moisture) so it locks in hydration. Just apply after showering and then towel-pat dry. Skin feels fresh and hydrated, which is great for sticky summer days when you don’t want to feel coated in heavy creams.

Graydon Face Food Mineral Mist ($35)

For a quick pick-me-up on a super-hot day, spritz on this face mist to keep your skin looking fresh and hydrated. Infused with the minerals magnesium, zinc, silver and copper, this unscented mist instantly hydrates, helps soothe skin and reduces inflammation. It can also be used before applying makeup, as the moisture helps with the absorption of moisturizers and serums. Keep it chilled in the fridge for an extra boost of freshness.
