In the celeb-worshipped days of 2016 having a celeb do a campaign with a makeup brand is nothing really new (we reported here and here, after all), though nonetheless exciting. What gets us really excited is when celebs use their creative clout to actually be a part of the design of a collection. Yes, Katy Perry, longtime CoverGirl spokesperson, is now launching a line with the cosmetics brand–and we’re thrilled.
Not only does the line offer up some very Katy products, but also some cheeky names and sleek packaging. The CoverGirl Katy Kat Matte Lipstick will be available in 11 shades at drugstores this May, while the CoverGirl Katy Kat Eye Mascara will be available at drugstores in July in Perry Blue and Very Black, both in waterproof and non-waterproof formulas.
The Katy Kat Matte Lipsticks are hydrating and super-pigmented, not to mention long-lasting–they’d have to be to get Ms. Perry’s on-stage stamp of approval. Ranging from a juicy coral, light lavender and even a black cleverly titled Perry Panther (which Katy herself is rocking in the campaign), the CoverGirl-approved price tag will make it easy to stock up.
