Pack away your dull grays and blacks because this sunny season is all about colour. We spotted yellow popping out of prints, standing on its own and hiding in subtle accessories during the spring/summer 2011 runway season. Burberry Prorsum paired a canary-yellow tee with a lime green jacket, while Giambattista Valli went head to toe in a sunflower shade maxi skirt and cropped tee combo. Nina Ricci used a yellow clutch to add an extra punch of colour to her multihued runway collection and Marc Jacobs accessorized one of his model’s with a terrific saffron sunhat.
Celebrities have also jumped on the yellow bandwagon. Keri Hilson wore a yellow Rachel Roy cocktail dress with sheer sleeves to the 2011 Billboard Awards and accessorized the dress with a bright green belt and gold jewelry. Brooklyn Decker wore a yellow sundress with black accessories and peep-toe ankle boots out in New York City last week and Kate Hudson was a vision in a pale yellow Versace gown to the premiere for Something Borrowed in Los Angeles.
If you are not sure if yellow is your colour, note that yellow comes in all different shades from very pale to highlighter. Find the hue that matches your skin tone and sense of style the best.
