10 Reasons Why Beyonce’s Famous

In case you needed your Friday to be anymore wondrous, news of new Destiny’s Child music was announced yesterday. And while we adore Kelly and Michelle (obviously), here is another fact: Beyoncé© will always be our queen. Though shockingly, not everyone is aware of that fact. So if you are one of the few who have yet to believe, below are ten reasons why Beyoncé© is so deserving of said accolades. And if you do believe, let us bask in her glory together.

1. She makes absolutely no apologies
Beyoncé© is Beyoncé©, and it’s inspiring. In fact, it’s so inspiring, that Bikini Kill’s Kathleen Hanna put this opinion into words better than I ever could:

Beyoncé© isn’t Beyoncé© because she reads comments on the Internet. Beyoncé© is in Ibiza, wearing a stomach necklace, walking hand in hand with her hot [husband]. She’s going on the yacht and having a mimosa. She’s not reading comments about herself on the Internet, and we shouldn’t either.

Absolutely correct.

2. The charity work
It’s not like Beyoncé© just spends her days lounging around on her piles of money “ she works hard (which we will get to next). After Harry Belanfonte ran down Beyoncé© and Jay-Z this year claiming they didn’t do enough for their communities, her camp responded with what she has done, including her video for World Humanitarian Day, her $100 000 donation to Gulf Coast Ike Relief Fund, and co-founding The Survivor Foundation in downtown Houston. Add her political involement into the equation, and “philanthropist” becomes quite the accurate descrption. So take that, everyone, but especially Mr. Belanfonte.

3. She works super hard
The woman works HARD. And if the albums or the voice or her philanthropy doesn’t convince you, perhaps her dancing will. None of us can do it, you guys “ and I have tried, constantly. (Often alone.)

4. Her Tumblr rules
Someone said the other day how Beyoncé©’s Tumblr is just an excuse for her to brag about her amazing life (don’t worry, I shunned them immediately), and do you know what? YEAH. IT IS. So? If any of us had lives that great, we would absolutely post photos of ourselves all over the Internet. Especially if we had just gotten bangs.

5. Her personal life is personal
Over-sharing is the WORST, so kudos must be given to Beyoncé© for not exploiting her marriage, her child, or any other aspect of her personal life. Do you know who doesn’t have time for gossip about herself? Beyoncé©. Because she is too busy being queen.

6. No, seriously “ it’s personal
But remember when she wouldn’t even tell anyone if she was dating Jay-Z? Let’s just think about that for a second. RESPECT.

7. She gave pizza to waiting fans
When 500 fans lined up for her show in London, England, she had 200 pizzas delivered to make the wait a little more bearable. Amazing, right? Almost as amazing as how she and Jay-Z opted out of the Grammy’s to go for pizza in Brooklyn this year. Who runs this mother? Pizza.

8. Her message is that of empowerment
Considering most of us are adults and look to Beyoncé© for empowerment, how do you think those teenage girls feel, now having two Knowles women to be inspired by? (If you haven’t heard Solange’s True, treat yourself immediately.)

Never has Beyoncé©’s message been that of subservience or compromising who you are for men, women, or anybody else “ she constantly stresses self-sustainability and inner strength, which makes her a role model, let’s be serious.

9. She also champions women working together
Run the World (Girls) in no way encourages rivalry or pettiness among women “ it celebrates the notion of women working together, rising up, and taking control. How amazing is that? And how exciting for that next generation of girls, who get to grow up embracing such a positive message?

10. She is Beyoncé©
And that fact in itself should earn our respect.
