Carine Roitfeld to Publish Memoir

Anna Wintour has The September Issue and Grace Coddington gets a memoir, so it only makes sense that former French Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld has taken a page from the book of non-fiction (ha – get it?) and announced plans to release her own autobiography, Irreverent.

Set to be released on October 4, the book has been described as an “image-heavy . . . scrapbook”, and details the model-turned-editor’s life through letters, photographs and the written word.

Written by Roitfeld herself and edited by Purple magazine’s Oliver Zahm, the book has been published by Rizzoli and also features contributions from a slew of fashion heavy-hitters including the iconic Wintour herself.

If you recall, Carine left French Vogue at the end of last year to concentrate on “personal projects”, though whether the memoir will elaborate on the explanation remains to be seen (unless it’s the project itself). However, considering the tome’s slated to consist of 400-pages and has been a work-in-progress for the past years, it’s safe to assume that Roitfeld’s full-on literary endeavour is only the tip of the “branching out from Vogue” iceberg.

Here’s hoping it’s far from The Devil Wears Prada.
