VIDEO: Gwyneth Paltrow Sings at CMA

Gwyneth Paltrow is dipping her feet in the country music scene and last night at the Country Music Awards (CMAs), she tried to impress all of Nashville. In a move to promote her lead role as Kelly Canter in the upcoming film Country Strong, Gwyneth took to the stage.

Gwyneth made her official musical debut at the last night during her performance of “Country Strong,” alongside country crooner Vince Gill. Gwyneth is no Carrie Underwood, but she held her own up on that stage while she was strumming on her acoustic guitar, and looked like an actual country singer. Check it out here:

Of her role, she says: I think any time you do any role you want to be as authentic as possible, but obviously in this case with it being around the world of country music, you have a whole culture to really respect and portray properly, she said.

Her newfound musical talent has even won her a guest appearance on Glee, where she will play a substitute teacher who somehow decides to do her own rendition of Rihanna’s “Umbrella.” I can’t wait to see how Gwyneth pulled if off, especially since that is quite a stretch from a country song on acoustic guitar.

And who knew that Gwyneth could sing? Well okay, her husband is Chris Martin, the musical genius behind a little band called Coldplay, so maybe he gave her a few tips. But did you know she could also play guitar?

What do you think of Gwyneth’s musical pursuits?
