Manscaping Tips for Your Guy

It used to be that men who trimmed their chest hair or “personal” areas could only be found in body-builders,  X-rated films or on stage with male dancers (strippers).

But now it is very common for men to use “manscaping” to improve their physical appearance, in much the same way women do. And manscaping can increase the friction involved during sex, leading to additional benefits for both of you.

Here are some tips to get your man looking his best.

How to go about removing hair

When it comes to manscaping, men have the same options we do, namely waxing, shaving or creams.

Please note that wax should never be used to remove genital hair on a man, as the skin there is too thin.

If he decides to go the cream route, he should purchase one for sensitive areas and do a test first – I can’t imagine anything worse for a guy than chemical burns “down there.” Talk about turning him off to manscaping forever.

If shaving is the route for him, he should use a fresh blade and tread carefully. Most salons that offer waxing will be happy to manscape his other parts.

Things to think about before he tries manscaping. You know all about this stuff but it could be helpful to clue your guy in. First, remind him that if he chooses to wax, it will take weeks to grow that hair back, so he should consider it carefully. Second, if he uses a razor for manscaping, the hair will grow back quickly and there will be an itch factor.

Lastly, he should consider taking a few Advil or Tylenol before he goes for a wax – he may think this is “wussy” but you know how painful a wax can be.

Purchase him a soothing cream to apply after any manscaping technique and he will thank you afterward.

Where to remove hair

This is, of course, a personal decision. If he has so much chest hair people have accused him of wearing a sweater at the beach, his first foray into manscaping might be his back or arms (I recommend waxing for this.)

If the two of you are looking to experiment sexually with a new “feel”, he should shave his genitals (this can also make his junk look larger, so it has an added appeal to men.) Removal of chest hair can show off his muscularity, but the two of you might want to discuss how this manscaping will really look – not all men (or women) like this look.

But if he is willing to try new things, you should help him out on this journey into “manscaping”. You might really enjoy the way he looks (and feels) when he is done.

I am a 51 yr old married female. I understand some pubic grooming; but what is this obsession about all hair removal? I can only guess that, yes, skin to skin contact would probably feel wonderful. But, the fact is we have hair..there! Oral prob would feel different without the hair but really.. when I see the level of hair removal people are into now, I can only think of department store mannequins, that’s what a person devoid of human hair looks like! We gotta get a grip, speaking of which, hair is pretty good for that!! lol

Some may like a smooth man, but being a gay male, I find it a turn off. Hairy is great….the rugged look.
