With Valentine’s Day rolling around so soon, we’ve pulled some ideas “ budget-friendly ones “ that keep the love in Valentine’s Day but leave your wallet in tact:
1. Dinner Date for Two at Home
This year Valentine’s Day falls right smack in the middle of the week. So an evening in, just the two of you, can be appealing. Cook up a favourite meal – appetizers, main course, dessert and all. And reconnect over a dinner by candlelight. Budget-friendly and kind of fun to cook up a great meal together.
2. Movie Buffs
Pop some popcorn and snuggle in to some of your favourite all-time movies. You pick one and let them pick the other. Cozy up by a fireplace and a quiet, romantic date night is born.
3. Outdoor Adventure
Some of the best dates are budget-friendly and creatively thought out. Throw on a pair of skates and find your closest outdoor rink and skate under the stars. Warm up with some hot chocolate afterwards.
4. Indoor Picnic
Non-traditional, sure. And definitely memorable. Find a botanical garden in your city and pack up a simple lunch or dinner picnic of some of your favourite cheeses, throw in a baguette and some other goodies and your set. The best of both worlds while it’s wintering outside.
5. Long Distance
Maybe you’re negotiating distance in your relationship this Valentine’s Day. If so, that doesn’t let you off the hook. Write a note and tell the person how you feel about them and what they’ve added to your life. Don’t borrow words, just jot down whatever comes to you.
