Zooey Deschanel, known to be a fun and quirky actress, is suing footwear company, Steve Madden for $2 million. Zooey apparently made an endorsement deal for the same amount back in August and says she was never paid.
Soon after the deal was made, Steve Madden backed out, saying they just didn’t have enough retailers to back the endorsement. So it was back to the drawing board and after more meetings, they decided on a $1.5 million deal instead. But seems Steve Madden still didn’t hold up their end. Plus, Zooey was also promised a certain percentage of profits if Steve Madden’s sales peaked at a certain amount. Sounds like a pretty sweet deal to me. In theory anyway.
According to Zooey, she held up her end of the deal and even turned down other proposals but was never paid for her endorsement.
