It seems attending Harvard Business School served Tyra Banks well. The former model launched a new company, Tyra Beauty, last week.
“The creation of my cosmetics experience has been years in the making,” Banks told People magazine. “Do you know how good it feels to finally be able to tell the world why I attended Harvard Business School?! I truly learned how to master building and leading my own cosmetics experience.”
Tyra Beauty is comprised of three categories. The first is "Tyover," which the website describes as transformations in a stick. The second is "Smize," which are cosmetics for the eyes. Lastly is the "It Factory," which is a collection of lip products that will have you "werkin' that hallway like a runway." Prices range from $24 to $74.50 USD.
“The Tyra Beauty cosmetics experience has a lot of innovative elements,” the supermodel said. “I’m obsessed with being different, unique, a leader. Our new beauty business is all about badassery. I’m approaching beauty differently: bigger, bolder, badder.”
Interested beauty buffs can even sign up to be a "Beautytainer," which is basically the Tyra Beauty answer to the Avon lady. You can sell her products to your network of friends, colleagues, neighbours, etc., after learning the ins and outs of the business through TyraU.
"We will celebrate our unique beauty and business power together — one juicy, flat, dimpled, skinny, fat ass at a time!" the website reads.
