If you’ve been pining for UK style in the midst of typical North American heat, your time has come: For this coming weekend, Topshop is hosting a pop-up concept shop in Toronto.
The Toronto store will be located at the corner of Queen St. West & Soho St. It opens at 12pm and closes at 8pm on Friday June 17, runs Saturday June 18 from 10 – 8 pm, then opens once more on Sunday from 10 am – 5 pm.
But if you’re making a face at the thought of venturing all the way to the kind-of suburbs, fear not. For one weekend only, a pop-up location at Queen West and Soho Street will house The Topshop and Topman Summer Takeover, which will feature “summer essentials, free frozen treats . . . and a shopping soundtrack provided by high-profile DJs”. (Personally, you had me at “treats”.)
Naturally, that’s not everything – especially since with such a high profile arrival, the chain will want to make the proverbial pre-emptive strike even more stand-out-ish if it’s going to compete with the weekend’s NXNE music festival. Thus, the first 200 customers will receive a free fabric bag, and the shopper with the best street style will win tickets to the Yorkdale VIP Opening Party in September, a $500 shopping spree and a little one-on-one time with a Topshop personal shopper. Boom. (Word to the wise: this is not the time to wear leggings as pants.)
Can’t make it? Don’t you worry: the Topshop Capsule at the Bay Queen and Yonge is open from June 30 to August 1, which marks the “last chance to shop Topshop and Topman before the Yorkdale store opening”. Toronto economy, you’re about to get boosted.
