Unicef has come up with a brand new way to help fundraise and raise awareness for clean water issues all over the world. The Celebrity Tap Project has Rihanna and Selena Gomez bottling their own tap water to donate in a sweepstakes. People can donate $5 to the Unicef Tap Project and will automatically be entered into the sweepstakes to win an “esteemed collection of these famous tap waters.”
Not only have said celebrities been bottling their own water (or having someone do it for them), but Selena Gomez and Rihanna have put together pretty hilarious videos to help get the word out there.
Rihanna’s video is very celebrity perfume meets Saturday Night Live. In an attempt to make tap water sexy, Unicef went with a black and white video of Rihanna, well, pouring some tap water into a glass. In Selena’s video, she channels Cinderella as she feeds an animated bird her delicious tap water. The catch is, though, that she is a tad bit on the insane side and is, of course, imagining the entire thing while an electrician looks on in confusion.
Unicef makes sure the donations don’t go to waste. For every dollar that is donated to the Tap Project, Unicef will be able to provide safe and clean water for a child for 40 days. That’s worth 5 bucks if you ask me.
In addition to Rihanna and Selena Gomez, celebrities like Taylor Swift, Adrien Grenier, Robin Williams, and Dwight Howard will be bottling their tap water for Unicef’s Tap Project.
