After the tragic death of Heath Ledger, Michelle Williams, his then ex-finace and mother of his child, manged to stay out of the public eye and grieved privately. After almost three years, it seems that Michelle is finally ready to open up a bit about her mourning process.
In a recent interview with Nightline, Michelle said there are days when she actually misses the first year after Heath’s death.
In a strange way, I miss that year, because all those possibilities that existed then are gone,” she said. “It didn’t seem unlikely to me that he could walk through a door or could appear behind a bush. It was a year of very magical thinking, and in some ways I’m sad to be moving further and further away from it.
Michelle also mentioned that she still has a hard time in finding meaning for Heath’s death.
“I can find meanings in things and people and relationships that have sprung up and friendships that have strengthened. I found a lot of meaning in that but not in ˜why.’
Michelle was joined on in the interview with Ryan Gosling, her co-star in the upcoming film Blue Valentine and the two addressed the rumors around their alleged relationship.
“We’re professionals,” said Ryan.
“He looks like he’s lying, but he’s not!” Michelle added.
Blue Valentine is due out in theaters in on New Years Eve and Michelle has already snagged a Golden Globe nomination for her role.
