Leona Lewis and The Body Shop fans rejoice! The British singer has just been announced as The Body Shop’s new brand activist.
What does that mean? In addition to being the face of a campaign, she’ll be working with The Body Shop and NGO Cruelty Free International in their collaborative effort to end animal testing forever — which is goal close to being accomplished thanks to the EU’s ban on animal testing coming into effect on March 11.
“I’m passionate about beauty and I’m all about animal rights,” Lewis said. “As a result, I’m really conscious of where the products that I use come from. The Body Shop sells cruelty-free, ethical products containing amazing Community Fair Trade ingredients. The collaboration is a natural fit!”
As for the line she’s fronting, Leona will be the face of a 100% cruelty-free makeup and fragrance collection, which features 100% vegetarian cosmetics in a number of “fashion-forward” shades. Groovy!
