For anyone glued to their televisions for the duration of The Bachelorette, you may have been taken aback by Emily Maynard choosing . . . Jef Holm. (Or maybe you weren’t — which, if that’s the case, tell us your secrets.)
The decision was between Jef and race car driver Arie Luyendyk after Emily Maynard’s engagement to last year’s Bachelor Brad Womack didn’t work out. Then, in last night’s dramatic finale, Jef was the only one who proposed. Emily’s response? Silence. (And then “yes.”)
Evidently, this came as a particularly harsh blow to Arie who’d gone to the trouble of making a love potion only to find out — before the actual ceremony — that it was over.
Said Arie, “I still believe she is the love of my life. It’s so painful. I can’t believe this is it.”
Well it is, Arie. Because Emily Maynard and Jef Holm are the new reality TV show couple du jour. (But does this mean he’s our new Bachelor?)
