Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel and creator/writer of Gilmore Girls Amy Sherman-Palladino will be reuniting next year at the ATX Television Festival's Season 4 Fest. Yes, that's right, the women who brought us years of long-winded quips, obscure pop culture references and fast-talking coffee addicts will be attending the festival together to make us hardcore GG fans squeal in excitement.
“So after years of peace and quiet these lunatics have chosen to get the chattiest chicks in the world back under one roof? Really? Okay,” Sherman-Palladino said in a statement. “You asked for it….Gilmore was the highlight of my ridiculous life. I can’t wait to sit with these unbelievable broads and relive a time where sleep did not exist where stress and coffee were mama’s little helpers and where we all dove into the deep end together to make something weird and very very cool."
Could this lead to a full-on reunion episode or, even better, movie? Well, it seems Graham might on board. After taking a walk down memory lane with Netflix, the actress says she's been "craving" a little Lorelai Gilmore in her life.
"Now I sort of weirdly crave it," she told E! Online. "I have seen some of it and I love that kind of language and that athleticism."
The show didn't end quite the way most had hoped. Sherman-Palladino left the show in the last season (seemingly against her own will), leaving both fans and cast members disappointed with the way things ended. She revealed that she always had a last line in mind to end the series perfectly, but has never revealed what those words would have been. Graham says while the ending of the show wasn't satisfying, she's not sure a reunion wouldn't end in disappointment.
Either way, our favourite Gilmore Girls will be sitting at a panel together in June 2015, and I, for one, couldn't be more excited.
The ATX Television Festival will also host a Dawson's Creek writer's room reunion.
