Oh, IT'S ON (is something I've always wanted to write and really mean it, so thank you, Kanye). According to Vogue UK, Kanye West has called Saint Laurent's creative director Hedi Slimane of plagiarism.
"So, when I see Hedi Slimane," the rapper said to BBC 1. "And it's like, 'Okay this is my take on the world,' yeah he's got some nice $5000 jeans in there, it's some nice ones here and there, some good shit here and there, but we are a culture…Rap is the new rock and roll. We are culture. Rap is the new rock and roll. We are the rock stars. It's been like that for a minute, Hedi Slimane. It's been like that for a minute. We are the biggest rock stars, and I'm the biggest of all of them."
We know, Kanye. We all know.
But how did this even begin?
Well, West claims he invented leather trousers, as seen in collections by Saint Laurent, Isabel Marant, and Alexander Wang — but not before comparing himself to The Truman Show.
"Whether I'm at a dinner with Anna Wintour, or a listening party with Pusha-T or in Rome with Virgil [Abloh], giving Fendi our designs and getting them knocked down…[we] brought leather jogging pants six years ago to Fendi and they said no," he claimed. "How many motherf—-s you done seen with a leather jogging pant?"
"They classify my motivational speeches as rants," West added. "I have reached the point where my Truman Show boat has crashed into the painting."
Kanye West, never change. As for the rest of you: do you think he has a point? Or were leather pants independent thought created specifically by the self-appointed "number-one living and breathing rock star"?
