A not-so-young looking Dakota Fanning graces the cover of the August 2010 issue of Marie Claire. The Twilight Saga: Eclipse star opens up to the magazine about her very adult girl-on-girl scene with Kristen Stewart in The Runaways, and what it was like growing up in Hollywood.
Looking beautiful on her editorial, Fanning says people would often “get attached to who [she was] at 6 years old.” Being one of the most talented and well-known child stars of her generation, the attachment is understandable (especially since I’m one of the guilty ones who just can’t see dear little Dakota has a young woman).
She continued on to explain that her racy character as Cheri Currie, one of Joan Jett’s closest and dearest in The Runaways, would show the world that she’s not that 6-year-old girl anymore. “You know, I’m not that young little girl anymore, but I’m still not all grown up, either.”
Fanning also spoke openly about her on-screen kiss with co-star and bff Kristen Stewart in The Runaways. She said she felt “no pressure” since she shared the kiss with her “friend and a girl.”
Inside Marie Claire, readers get an even closer glimpse at a more adult Dakota Fanning as she poses as a funky fashionista with outrageous hair, which is quite the opposite of her more cute and subdued cover picture.
The August 2010 issue of Marie Claire hits stands on July 13th!
