Charlie Sheen has checked into rehab, and apparently, it’s been a long time coming. CBS executives have been trying to get him to go for weeks, reported nymag.com’s Vulture.
Sheen voluntarily entered an undisclosed rehabilitation centre, said his rep, Stan Rosenfield.
The 45-year-old spent Thursday in a Los Angeles hospital for severe abdominal pain that was thought to be a hernia. Sheen was reportedly smoking cocaine with several women before he was taken to hospital.
Rosenfield refused to comment officially, but did say he didn’t believe the rumour.
But it wouldn’t be the first time Sheen’s gotten up to no good.
The actor was found by police drunk and naked last October after trashing a New York Plaza suite. The tantrum reportedly stemmed from a fight with porn star Capri Anderson.
In August, Sheen pleaded guilty to misdemeanour assault after a fight with his ex-wife Brooke Mueller. He was sentenced to rehab, but instead served three months probation.
Sheen has two children with second ex-wife, Denise Richards. She was at his hospital bedside Thursday and urged him to check himself into rehab, reported Popeater.
In the meantime, Two and a Half Men is on hiatus, according to a statement released by CBS, Warner Bros. Television and executive producer Chuck Lorre.
We are profoundly concerned for his health and well-being, and support his decision, said the statement.
