You know in movies when somebody's rise to the top is represented by montages of newspapers and headlines documenting their rise to the top? Do you think Cara Delevingne's team will use any of ours? Because we are about three more pieces away from becoming a Delevingne news source. (Should we become a Cara Delevingne fan site Y/N) (Just kidding)
Anywho. The model-turned-actress has reportedly landed a role in the upcoming Amanda Knox biopic, role TBA, according to The Mirror.
The Face of an Angel, directed by Michael Winterbottom, revolves around the trial of Amanda Knox and her boyfriend Raffaele Sollectico, who were found guilty of killing British student Meredith Kercher, age 21. The two were convicted, but the sentence was overturned in 2011, and now there's a retrial currently underway in Florence.
Now here's what we know about the movie so far: Daniel Bruh (of the upcoming The Fifth Estate) is to play the male lead, and Colin Firth will reportedly also be involved in some capacity. The Mirror has also stated that Delevingne will not be playing Amanda Knox, so we can assume she'll play… Meredith Kercher? Since they're both 21? Wrong agin — the movie is said to revolve mostly around the trial itself.
"It doesn't look like Cara will be playing Foxy Knoxy," said a very professional source. "But she will have a major role, as the director wants to focus on events surrounding the trial and the people whose lives have been affected by it."
"Getting Cara has been a real coup for the film, but is also brilliant for her career," they continued. "It proves she's as in-demand as an actress and will help boost her career stateside."
If this all comes to pass, it will be the fourth film for Delevingne coming down the line. Meaning? We are now two blog posts away from becoming a Delevingne news source. Get those montages ready!
