Just a few short weeks ago Ava Hama and Nolan Bellavance debuted their Spring/Summer 2014 Bellavance collection at New York Fashion Week. Last night, the New York-based design duo had their homecoming at Toronto’s The shOws, where Canadian designers who’ve had international success return to display their latest designs. Along with Bellavance, Calla Haynes showed her beautifully crafted collection she designed and manufactured in Paris, where she’s been building shop for the past decade.
We were backstage where the models, designers, makeup and hair artists were hard at work. It was a surprisingly calm atmosphere, the CoverGirl and Pantene teams flew through each model’s look effortlessly, sending only the best work down the runway.
Bellavance S/S 2014
For the Bellavance look each model's hair was pulled tightly to the side and secured underneath to give the illusion that one side of their hair was shaved. The makeup was all about the summer glow, with a bronze cheek and eye shadows that were playful and young.
