Only two weeks left of my challenge and I am beginning to see real results! My pants fit better, my stomach is tighter and my legs and arms feel stronger.
Now that summer is officially here, I wanted to move my workout outdoors to take advantage of the beautiful weather. My personal trainer, Lara Marq, took me to a park nearby and showed me how I can get my gym results using a few items you can find at any playground. Plus, if you are an aunt like I am or a mom, this is something you can do while you’re there with the kids (two birds, one stone)!
Lara Marq’s Playground Workout
Do ten reps of each move and repeat three times.
Elevated Squat Jumps
This is an advanced level exercise. Modify by keeping the squat jumps on the earth. Remember to keep your chest up and your knees over your ankles for the best form.
Plank Crunch on a Swing
This is the ultimate core exercise. Want beach-ready abs? This is your go-to move! Make sure your hands are planted underneath your shoulders in order to not put any unnecessary stress on your back.
Monkey Bars
This is an excellent workout for the entire upper body and surprisingly challenging.
Elevated Push Ups on the Park Bench
Give yourself a challenge while toning your arms with this move. Keep your body a straight line (butt down!) and lift one of your legs (alternating) for optimal results.
Tricep Dip on the Park Bench
This is another way to tone your arms, utilizing a bench at the park.
