We’re super fussy about our makeup removers. Nine times out of ten they sting our eyes, leave a film on our face (and sometimes across our eyeballs. So gross), or just plain don’t make us feel like we’ve removed every last bit of our eyeshadow, mascara, blush, tinted balm and worst of all, the sunscreen we wear daily like it’s our job.
Uriage’s Refreshing Makeup Removing Jelly does none of the above, which explains why we seem to reach for it every night when we stand in front of the mirror.
For one, the jelly is super gentle. Made with 94 per cent ingredients of natural origin, it’s effective enough to do what it promises, but our eyes and skin never pay the price. It simply smooths across our face, including our eyes, to remove all of our makeup and then, easily wipes away leaving a clean fresh feeling. The product’s texture is unique too, not too wet like a liquid remover and not too thick like a cream-based one either. Just a sheer gel that doesn’t irritate or leave a tight feeling when we’re finished, yet definitively eliminates grime and oil alongside our days’ worth of lotions and cosmetics.
And all we have to do is apply a dollop to our slightly damp face with our fingers and gently massage it on from our forehead to our eyes to our chin. Rinse it off with a wet washcloth and we’re done. Pretty sure this newb is making its way into a permanent spot on our bathroom vanity.
