Glowing skin. A sign of health, youth and vitality. And very much coveted by women of every age. Believe it or not, regardless of the type of skin you may have “ sensitive or susceptible to sun damage “ beautiful glowing skin is possible. We’ve compiled a list of tips and tricks that will keep your skin looking gorgeous as we head into the Fall months.
1. You are what you eat
So be aware of what you put in your mouth. Make sure you eat the recommended intake of fruits and veggies every day and maintain a balanced diet. Try to avoid processed foods and refined sugars as those never do your skin any favours in the long run.
2. Befriend SPF
You’ve heard it here and likely you’ve heard it everywhere else too. Make fast friends with sunscreen and wear it everyday even when there’s a chill in the air or cloud cover. You are still susceptible to damaging UV rays.
3. Get hydrated
Skip the sugary sodas, coffee and teas and opt for water more times then not.
4. Have colder showers
Avoid taking scorching hot showers. Instead, try lukewarm. The extreme heat can dry out your skin in no time.
This doesn’t have to be an expensive option. In fact, you can make some great options out of things you likely already have in your cupboard at home. Exfoliating removes the dead layer of skin and keeps you looking refreshed. Try to get to this twice a week.
6. Don’t forget to moisturize
This is one department where it’s not wise to skimp on. Find the best moisturizer you can and lather up as soon as you step out of the shower and before bed.
7. Give your face a good eucalyptus steam
It will clear out the daily dirt that your face cleanser never seems to get to and trust us. You’re skin will look like a million bucks.
8. Go make-up free on the weekend
Let your skin breath a bit and soak up something other than a layer of foundation and blush.
9. Soak your hands and feet
Specifically in a milk and oatmeal soak before your manicure and pedicure. It’ll keep your skin very soft.
10. Get a regular massage
This helps get your circulation going and blood moving to give you a natural, beautiful sheen to your skin.
