What are you trying to do to us, Tommy Hilfiger? Buy things? Buy things from you? Well, fine. WE WILL. But only because we want to already, and because you've teamed up with Zooey Deschanel.
That's right New Girl fans: Jessica Day is designing a capsule collection for Tommy Hilfiger, consisting of 16 "flirty dresses" (I don't know what that means, but okay) will hit Macy's on April 14 and on the official Tommy site on April 21, and from what we've seen so far, the pieces are right up the She & Him singer's alley.
Evidently, Hilfiger told WWD that Deschanel "is the epitome of [a Tommy girl] — all-American, youthful, fun, funny, yet she has a sophistication and worldiness to her that's quite endearing."
The dresses are '60s inspired (of course), with hints of red, navy, and white, but "done in a Zooey way with interesting detail and flirty fabrics."
"They are very Jean Shrimpton and Twiggy — really from the '60s in London," he continued. "That's not something we would normally put in our regular sportswear line — maybe we'd be inspired by the '60s for the runway, but it's a new way to look at fun, American classics."
So basically, think everything you've ever seen worn on New Girl. (And yes obviously we're all freaking out about this, are you kidding me.)
"I am a fashion fanastic," Deschanel added. "And I am always looking for new ways to incorporate vintage, feminine pieces into my wardrobe. Tommy and I share many of the same inspirations — old school music, classic films, and old Hollywood icons — and his guidance during the design process helped put a really unique twist on each piece."
The best part? They're actually affordable. Each runs from between $98 to $199, and will be available at 200 Macy's locations.
