Top Dream Honeymoon Destinations

When dreaming about your fantasy honeymoon consider both adventure and relaxation. Choose a destination that will stimulate your senses but also calm your post wedding nerves. Discuss common interests regarding climate and cultural preferences to help narrow down your travel options. Your honeymoon should be whatever you want it to be-exotic, comfortable, far away or close to home. The trip can take you to a common page in your love story or to an unknown chapter you’ll write together. Here are 4 places on opposite sides of the world to consider when planning your ultimate honeymoon:

It Takes Two to Tango in Argentina

Surrender yourselves to the sensuality of Argentine culture and cuisine. Share sticky croissants (medialunas) and biscuits filled with caramel (alfajores) with your sweetheart and sweet tooth in one of many cafes boasting with baked goods. Sip on world famous wine and stroll down cobblestone streets, adorned with tango dancers and jazz musicians-an ideal end to an ethereal evening in beautiful Buenos Aires.

A South Pacific Paradise in the Cook Islands

Not as touristy as ocean neighbours Tahiti and the other islands of French Polynesia, the Cook Islands are a beach lover’s honeymoon dream. Discover each other’s adventurous sides by exploring jungles, caves and waterfalls or opt for a tryst with tranquility by lying in turquoise sparkled lagoons. Sleeping in over-water bungalows beneath South Pacific skies will make you feel like you’re laying next to James Bond-despite you who you just married.

Rock the Kasbah in Morocco

Savour the seductive scents of cumin and saffron as you uncover the magical secrets and streets of Morocco. The romance begins with camel rides through the Sahara desert and continues with mint tea under a star-studded North African sky. Discover ancient ruins and cities fused with cultural diversity, exuding inspiration and history from Africa, Europe and the Middle East. Conclude the romance in Casablanca and call your hubby Humphrey.

Fairy Tales in Great Britain

The United Kingdom has enough castles, gardens and high culture to make you believe you married Prince Charming. Discover the lochs of Scotland, the Celtic countryside of Wales and the story-book ambiance of England. Each country is prominent in poetry, politics and, of course, pints. Visit Shakespeare’s home for sweet sonnets and ciders or return to Wonderland and Narnia for a more youthful adventure. Stay at bed and breakfasts for the ultimate experience in afternoon tea, scones and clotted cream.

Thank you, Lindsay Sara for allowing me to escape to faraway places while pushing paper at work. You should write more travel pieces for the site! It was a poetic pleasure reading this.

My fiance (for now anyway) says he wants to take me to the Hamptons. That may sound okay, but we live in Long Island! The Hamptons are an hour away! He claims anywhere’s an exotic paradise if I’m there. Yeah, right! What a cheapskate! I’m going to forward him this article mucho pronto.
