Lady Gaga Defends Wearing Fur

The fur debate is a tireless one, and Lady Gaga has previously come under fire for deciding to wear it.

So much so that she took to her blog to defend herself.

“To the fans, I want you to know that I care deeply about your feelings and views, and I will always support your philosophies about life,” she said. “I do not, however, I do not support violent, abusive, and childish campaigns for ANY CAUSE. Particularly one that I respect. ‘Animal rights.'”

Lady Gaga went on to say that she won’t reveal whether the furs she wears are faux or real because it would be “hypocritical not to acknowledge the python, ostrich, cow hide, leather, lamb, alligator, “Kermit” and not to mention meat” that she’s already worn, and that these factors should “already put [her] in a category as one who appreciates and adores the beauty of animals in fashion.”

“I have truly always stayed away from skinned fur,” Gaga continued. “Especially [because] I have never been able to afford a nice one, but this does not mean that my morals are rigid and I won’t bend at the sight of an absolute art piece of coat.”

Lady Gaga then asked her fans to be respectful of her views as she is respectful of theirs, and that she understands why this might upset them.

“And to campaigners,” she concluded. “Save your flour to make bread for the children who are hungry. And Kim Kardashian is fabulous.”

Well then. Something tells me this controversy is just getting started.
