4 Celebrity Friendships that Warm Our Hearts

We really feel the love in these ladies' friendships, which aren't just limited to double cheek kisses on the red carpet or post-award show partying. These power duos are the real deal, and we certainly don't anticipate reading any scathing tweet-wars between them anytime soon. Here are four fantastic pals, and why we love them together.

Drew Barrymore and Ellen Page

Page describes the first time she met Barrymore (in a Chateau Marmont before Whip It), as a surreal moment. The instant connection they felt told Page that the movie was going to be awesome. The pair got super close as derby girls during Barrymore's drectorial debut. They vacationed in Mexico for New Years and went to Vegas for their birthdays (which are on the same day, 12 years apart). Apparently, the entire cast of Whip it still keeps in touch.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler

This ballsy pair of hilarious lady comics met at an improv class in Chicago in their early twenties, and, according to their instructor, were instantly brilliant together. After improv training, the two moved onto the Second City Touring Company, and then Amy moved to New York with her sketch group in 1996. Tina followed a year later to write for SNL. In 2001, Amy joined her. The rest is complete comic genius history. Let's hope their story never ends.

Lena Dunham and Jemima Kirke

The Girls stars have been friends since they were 13, but they didn't get super close until Tiny Furniture, Dunham's 2010 comedy drama that won best narrative feature at South by Southest music fest. Duham asked Kirke to be in the Girls pilot and Kirke reluctantly agreed. Although Kirke has said that she hopes her life will "go back to normal soon", she's also said that Dunham is her favourite person to work with, because they're such good pals.

Gabby Hoffman and Christina Ricci

Now and Then fans will be happy to know that Samantha and Roberta actually became friends IRL in 1995 when they teamed up for this fantastic comedy-drama. (We're totally praying for a sequel.) 4 years later, Ricci and Hoffman starred in 200 Cigarettes together. Total power duo.
