Rachel Zoe is branching out into maternity wear. The celebrity stylist and designer has teamed up with A Pea in the Pod to launch her first maternity collection in March.
The range itself is very Rachel Zoe — lots of boho-chic with printed maxis, loose-fitting tunics, horizontal stripes and exposed zippers. It's casual and comfy with a touch of glamour.
“As a mother of two young boys, I understand how important it is to look and feel your best while you’re expecting and to never sacrifice style for comfort,” Zoe told WWD.
Zoe is known for her signature boho-chic style, and is famous for imparting that wisdom on Nicole Richie, who has certainly embraced the look for herself. With two kids of her own, Zoe is no stranger to the world of maternity clothes, and her new collection seems to reflect her own maternity style.
"My uniform was leggings, jeans that had a little band at the top, long tunics and fitted jackets. I felt I needed to be comfortable and that things needed to be structured, so I didn’t get completely swallowed by my clothes," Zoe told The Bump of her own pregnancy fashion. "Wear leggings and riding boots, a cute jacket and some lipstick. Give it five extra minutes and don’t let yourself go — don’t — because all of a sudden it spirals and you don’t feel cute which will make you unhappy."
The Rachel Zoe for A Pea in the Pod collection will be available at Destination Maternity and Macy's stores, as well as online at apeainthepod.com. Prices will range from about $100 to $250. You can get a glimpse at all the pieces in the collection here.
