Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are teaming up with online retailer StyleMint for an affordable jewelry line. The two are actually key advisors at SyleMint and hold considerable stake in the business. Their roles have mostly been behind-the-scenes, but back in 2011 they released a line of T-shirts, denim, sunglasses and other basics. Now, they've deigned a collection of jewelry and clutches especially for StyleMint called AMK x SM.
The collection was inspired by celestial formations and includes lariat necklaces, chokers, hand chains, ear cuffs and handheld bags. Everything is very minimalist and delicate, and it's all under $40.
"We drew inspiration from constellations and created versatile pieces that transition easily from day to night," Ashley told Lucky magazine.
Mary-Kate added: "We focused on minimalist designs that can be mixed, matched and layered, yet are strong enough to wear on their own."
The sisters say their favourite way to wear the pieces is to layer structured items with delicate pieces. Ashley suggests pairing "the Hydra bangle with the Lynx hand chain." Mary-Kate says those with several earring holes can get an asymmetrical look by wearing "a pair of the Pyxis drop earrings in the same ear for an asymmetrical look."
