Kim Kardashian is none too pleased with Old Navy’s latest ads and says the company should stop running them because they are using a Kim Kardashian lookalike.
Kim filed the suit with the federal courts in LA on Wednesday against Old Navy and their parent company Gap. Her claims say that the ads violated her publicity rights, simply because they happened to feature a woman who has similar features as Kim. The claims also say that viewers might become confused, especially since Kim already endorses her own shoe and clothing line.
Kim “has invested substantial time, energy, finances and entrepreneurial effort in developing her considerable professional and commercial achievements and success, as well as in developing her popularity, fame, and prominence in the public eye,” states the lawsuit.
The ad in question has been airing since February and had received over two million views on Old Navy’s YouTube channel.
If you ask me, I think a certain reality star is being a bit of a diva. So if Kim ever sees another Aremenian girl with killer curves in an advertisement, she’s going to sue them too? I think every celebrity has to draw the line somewhere, and Kim, I think this would be a good place to do it.
Do you think Kim is justified in her lawsuit?
