The 2015 AMAs were last night, and while we were obviously trend-spotting Gigi's fresh crop and the red carpet pop royalty that is Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande (who, by the way, had her hair down in case you too have been wishing for a hair switch) and Nicki Minaj (who rightfully took home the trophies for Favorite Hip-Hop Album and Favorite Hip-Hop Artist because she's Nicki freaking Minaj!), this particular AMA presentation hit the high notes in another way altogether: nostalgia. Whether you actually watched or just followed along on Twitter, the whole affair had us asking, What year is it? for the entire night.
3. Alanis Morrisette was there because it’s been a whole 20 years (20 YEARS, PEOPLE) since Jagged Little Pill came out. She performed You Oughta Know with Demi Lovato, which was cool (but also kind of weird considering she was three years old when the album came out), making all of the fully cognizant ˜90s babies rejoice!
