Editor’s Pick: SEPHORA + PANTONE 2015 Colour of the Year Collection

This year’s colour, Marsala, is a versatile and bold shade that you can not only sport in your wardrobe, but also in your beauty routine. Coined as “the new neutral” I think Marsala as a hair colour is gorgeous and there’s nothing more flattering than a Marsala lip. Speaking of makeup Sephora jumps on board annually with a collection of products all featuring Pantone’s shade. This year’s collection is by far my favourite yet. Here’s what’s included (and act fast because these items are quicking selling out in stores and online at Sephora.ca!):

Facets of Marsala Multi-Finish Eye Palette, $49

Red shadow can be a frightening thought, but Sephora has found a way to create the most flattering tones that will compliment anyone from a pale to darker skin tone. If you are going for red, blend with a deeper brown on the outer crease and gold in the inner area to add some depth.  The amount of looks you can create with this eye shadow palette is endless. The shades contain matte, glitter, pearl, and shimmer finishes, and 24 coordinating shades to accompany them.

Bold Marsala Mascara & Brow Highlighter, $25

Adding a hint of colour to your brows has been a trend for the past few seasons, so Sephora is right on the money with this brow highlighter and mascara. The vitamin-enriched formula in this product contains natural Jojoba oil and a blend of soft waxes to keep lashes healthy, improving flexibility and preventing breakage.

Marsala Metalshine Liquid Liner $23

This long-wear liquid liner delivers a striking metallic finish, but it a little difficult to apply if you don’t have the steadiest of hands. Nevertheless, you’ll get a high-impact look with this liner. I recommend it for my green-eyed gals.

Marsala Layering Lip Collection, $35

Mix and layer tones of Marsala with this set of five ombre nude pencils that provide sheer coverage and a dewy finish. Begin with a darker shade and add a lighter shade to the center of your bottom lip for a truly irresistible pout. The buttery formula contains hyaluronic filling spheres for plumping, and resveratrol, an antioxidant derived from red wine grapes, for hydrating colour that shines.

Pure Marsala Matte Lip Cré¨me, $23

My favourite of the collection and probably the product I’d use the most is this matte lipstick in the most beautiful shade. Formulated with extracts, oils and Resveratrol, an anti-aging ingredient derived from red grapes, it leaves behind a rich, long-lasting, natural satin finish.

Cooling Marsala Multi Stick, $32

This lightly-pigmented balm cools on contact while delivering a sheer and slighty shimmery wash of Marsala that you can apply to your cheeks for contouring and highlighting. The caffeine and coconut oil-based stick adds moisture while de-puffing for immediate skin relief. Cool, right?!

Shimmering Marsala Cheek Trio, $35

This chic compact contains two Marsala-toned blushes, paired with a cream highlighter. The pigment on these blushes are great and especially their velvety texture that looks natural on your skin. For the perfect application, apply with the Marsala Pro Angled Blush Brush #49.

Marsala Pro Angled Blush Brush #49, $40

Can’t wait to display this brush on my vanity! The slanted-bristle design of this brush easily hugs the contours of the face for even, precise application in a single sweep.
