Perfect Party Makeup

A night on the town is the perfect excuse to try something flirty and fun with your makeup. If you’ve gone to the trouble of wearing a new outfit”we know you have”then take your makeup to the next level with some brand new shades and techniques.

Here are three perfect party makeup looks to inspire you:

Dramatic Lips

Make you pout pack a punch with dramatic red lips. This classic Old Hollywood look is totally on-trend”plus it’s simple to create. Pair it with a neutral eye and a sexy black LBD.

How-to: Apply concealer to dark circles and blemishes as well as all over your lips (it will help create a perfect canvas for your lipstick). Set the concealer in place by dusting translucent powder all over your face. Next, sweep a warm, peachy-toned blush to the roundest part of your cheeks. Apply a sheer neutral shadow (with a hint of shimmer) to your lids, all the way up to your brow bone. Using black liquid eyeliner, draw a line across the eyelid as close to the base of the lashes as possible. Follow with mascara.

The final touch: apply a deep red lipstick or lip stain to your lips. For a dewier finish, add a sheer gloss on top to add shine.   

Smoky Eyes

The smoky eye is perfect for a sexy, mysterious look”plus it compliments almost any outfit. (No wonder this technique has been a staple on runways for decades!) The key to a well-executed smoky eye is nude lips, so as not to overpower the eye makeup.   

How-to: As above, prep your face with concealer and powder. Sweep a light layer of bronzer wherever the sun would naturally hit your face: across your cheekbones, forehead, chin and nose. Apply a sheer metallic silver shadow to your lids, all the way up to your brow bone. Using black liquid eyeliner, draw a line across the upper lash line, and then apply a dark charcoal eyeshadow across the lid and into the crease. Re-apply the shadow to get your desired darkness (don’t be shy!). Finish with mascara and a nude gloss.  

Rainbow Brights

Fashionistas, beware”this look is for you. The ˜80s have come back with a vengeance, influencing fashion with acid-washed jeans (or jeggings), glittery blazers and neon. Naturally, makeup follows suit! Achieve a modern look that mixes shimmery metallic eyes with fabulously hot pink lips.  

How-to: As above, prep your face with concealer and powder. Apply a sheer metallic shadow in silver or bronze to your lids, stopping at the crease. Draw a fine line of black liquid liner across the upper lash line and then apply two coats of black mascara.

To finish, make your lips pop with a bright pink lipstick or lip stain
