It’s finally happened! After months of waiting (not to mention walking by the rumoured location every other day), the new Toronto Bite Beauty Lip Lab is open! (Okay, so to be fair it’s been open for a couple weeks, but we’re still really excited.)
While Sephora has been the exclusive Canadian retailer for the homegrown brand Bite Beauty, the Toronto-based company is now branching out, opening up its second lip lab (the first is in New York), this time right here in our favourite city. Now, when you walk into the Queen Street West location (678 Queen St. W, to be exact), you can stock up on all of your favourite Bite goodies (including the can’t-get-enough-of-it Agave Lip Mask) and try some new shades. But wait, there’s more! Not only can you work with one of the awesome Bite Beauty team members to find your perfect shade (it took me four tries to find my perfect red, but I finally have it), you’ll also be able to create your own custom colours (and trust me, you’re going to want to). The experience aims to be an entirely personal one because even when you’re not mixing your own customized colour and using one of the brand’s signature blends, you can still switch up your base, say, to something matte or a bit more sheer depending on your preferences, and can even mix in your own personalized scent (evidently I’m the first person who’s chosen to blend vanilla and lime, so you’re welcome).

You can create one lipstick for $55 or two for $80 (which also includes a complimentary glass of champagne and some savoury snacks, BTW), which is perfect if you want to create one for yourself and then gift another to a friend (the holiday season is approaching faster than you think) or just two of your own lipsticks (you can never have too many).
The three-floor space has the retail section on the main level (including a mini lab that mixes all of the ingredients, not at all unlike the HQ in the north end of the city), but will also be opening up the second floor as an event space, perfect for bachelorette pre-games and bridal showers. Because who wouldn’t want to build their own lipstick?
