Spring Fashion Trends You Can Wear Now

Spring might be around the corner, but you might be itching to wear new clothes right now while the streets are still grey. Here are some spring fashion trends you can wear now and later.

Patterned blouse

This spring season, thin chiffon or silk sleeveless blouses with prints are a trend. And while they will work great with a pair of white jeans or pretty skirt soon, you can wear them right now with a pair of jeans or faux leather leggings. Layer on a colourful blazer to inject some pop into an outfit while going through slush month. These blouses are great for the office and transition into weekend outfits as well by swapping out heels for a pair of booties or flats.

Culottes

Once again, oversized bermuda shorts are a hit for spring. But how can you wear them now? If you like taking on a fashion dare, wear a pair of bermuda shorts in a rich pattern or thicker fabric over sheer tights for warmth. Knee-high socks are also an option, but keep it grown up with a pair in a neutral colour with no embellishments. Tall boots can also provide warmth, or if you can brave the cold, wear your culottes bare-legged and pair them with a sweatshirt or leather jacket for a cool, sporty look.

Wide-legged trousers

Seen on the runways of BCBG, voluminous pants are giving skinny jeans a run for their money. In the spring, pair them with a crop top or pretty blouse, but for now, wear voluminous trousers with a commanding pair of heels and a turtleneck for a modern, sophisticated look.

Midi Skirt

Move over mini – the midi skirt is the ladylike hemline of the season. While a skirt in a pastel hue will go great with sandals a couple months down the line, layer on tights and a cute cashmere sweater to wear that skirt now.

Bomber Jackets

The varsity-inspired bomber jacket makes its appearance again this spring, seen on the runways of Marc by Marc Jacobs and Tracy Reese. This trend is totally wearable now and later and can be worn with jeans for a casual look, or a funky mini for a night out.

Crop top

This one is hard to wear while it’s still cold out, but a good idea is to only let an inch of skin show (invest in a high-waisted pair of pants or a skirt) and layer on a coat to keep warm. Perfect for going out, this look is not office appropriate and works for night-time the best.
