Just days after performing alongside Sabrina Carpenter at Coachella, Madonna has offered a reward for the safe return of the outfit that she wore on stage during one of the festival’s most talked-about surprise moments, after several of her vintage costume pieces went missing following her performance.
“I discovered that the vintage pieces that I wore went missing- my costume that was pulled from my personal archives – jacket, corset, dress and all other garments,” Madonna wrote on Instagram. “These aren’t just clothes, they are a part of my history.”
Among the missing items were a dark purple Gucci bomber jacket, a custom satin corset from Period Corsets, and custom lingerie worn as a dress from Italian luxury house Rosamosario.
“I’m hoping and praying that some kind soul will find these items and reach out to my team,” Madonna wrote, adding that she was “offering a reward for their safe return.”
Several other items from Madonna’s personal archive “from the same era” have also disappeared, she wrote.

According to local authorities, Madonna’s items were last seen around on Saturday, April 18 at 1:30 am local time on a golf cart within the festival grounds. Early indications suggest there is no clear evidence of intentional theft, raising the possibility that the pieces may have been misplaced or accidentally lost while being transported. Officials have not confirmed any suspects or opened a formal criminal case at this stage.
During the performance, Madonna and Carpenter sang duets of “Vogue,” “Like A Prayer,” and a unreleased song from Madonna’s forthcoming album Confessions II, a sequel to 2005’s Confessions On A Dancefloor, which is due to be released in July.
Prior to Saturday night’s Coachella performance Carpenter famously paid tribute to Madonna when she walked the black carpet of the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards on September 11, 2024 wearing one of Madonna’s most memorable dresses, that itself was an homage to Marilyn Monroe. Carpenter wore the sparkling Bob Mackie gown that Madonna previously wore on March 25, 1991 to the 63rd annual Academy Awards at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, where she performed “Sooner or Later” from the film Dick Tracy.
