The Little White Dress, Four Ways

There is nothing more quintessentially summer than a white dress. Sure, you could simply throw it on and accessorize with a golden tan and long tresses, but why not update the look with playful and current variations?!

With the addition of a few military or safari-inspired pieces, you’ll be able to conquer the urban jungle with confidence! To get the look, try pairing a fitted military or safari jacket overtop the dress and rolling the cuffs. You can also belt the jacket with a neutral-toned belt for added emphasis around the waist. A pair of neutral gladiator sandals are the perfect option for lengthy walking, while wedges add a polished dimension, which are ideal for the workplace also.

Sporty Chic:
There are the days when all one wants to do is schlep around in sweats and sneakers, but truth be told; you can still be comfortable and look stylish. For a sporty-with-an-edge twist on the white lace dress, opt for a cut-off denim vest and pair with either brightly-coloured Converse sneakers (they could also be high-tops as well), or ones with a pattern and/or studs. While the outfit may appear like a mish-mash of items, wearing a brightly-hued sports watch will complement the vest and sneakers, while the dress softens the whole look.

Want to really make an impact and standout from the crowd next outing? Begin by pairing a sleek black boyfriend blazer (one with a little bit of sheen in the fabric is especially evening appropriate) or a cropped motorcycle-inspired leather jacket. The black topper will make the dress pop, while a statement-making bib necklace will draw the eye upward. Just ensure that the necklace have some black and/or charcoal elements to tie the look together. And of course, don’t forget a pair of leg-lengthening, platform strappy sandals!
