Perhaps you’ve experienced the nudge of intuition at certain points by way of a hunch, or gut feeling about something. Often described as our most powerful guide and advice giver, it’s ironic that most of us ignore it or are unsure of how to tap into it when faced with a decision to make. We’ve compiled a few steps that will help you tap into this powerful source that will keep you in-tune with yourself and on the right-track to make the best decisions for yourself.
Acknowledgement:
Ever have a moment when you think something might unfold in a certain way and it actually did? Or when the phone rang the other day, did you have a hunch who it might be? Or perhaps you’ve known something in a relationship wasn’t 100 per cent right, but couldn’t quite put your finger on it? That’s intuition. The good news? Everyone has it. The bad? Not everyone taps into the wellspring and as a result, it’s not as strong as it could be. Intuition is like a muscle, and once acknowledged and followed, it becomes more powerful over time and you are better able to recognize the signs.
Trust:
Recognizing the signs is one thing. Following them is another. One of the most challenging things about following ones intuition is quite simply, trusting your gut. Sometimes your intuition and head battle it out for winner’s rights. And many of us, often take the logical approach. However, next time you have a big decision to make, trust your initial reaction. How does your body react? Emotionally, does it make you panic or feel calm? Try going with it. Chances are, you won’t regret it.
Fighting it:
There are moments when intuitively, you feel a pull against a direction you’d really like to take. For instance, you’ve seen things in your relationship that make you go huh? but so far, you’ve explained them away as best you could, temporarily calming that inner voice. Yet, they still come up. That’s your gut forcing your attention. When you find yourself fighting it, consider going back to trusting there is a good reason for your reaction.
