We were all pretty excited last year when Melissa McCarthy announced she was going to head her own clothing line, and we finally have some new details to share! The brand, which is called Seven7, will be launching in stores and online in August.
The actress has partnered with Sunrise Brands, who will be manufacturing the clothes. Gerard Guez, CEO of Sunrise, said McCarthy is “a skilled designer with a passion for her work and incredible attention to detail.”
Fun fact: McCarthy actually went to school to study design at the Fashion Institute of Technology.
I think women want to be able to dress for their mood, McCarthy told WWD. My pieces mix and match, because some days we want to be rock ‘n roll and some days we want to be more polished. I love that I’ll be able to chat with other women about fashion and see how they’re wearing my clothes.
She will also be providing commentary about style, fit and versatility to her online customers. Seven7 will be available in all sizes and prices will range from $59 to $159 USD. McCarthy is panning on a higher end collection for 2016.
Seven7 will be available at specialty stores in Canada, the US and UK, and through McCarthy’s official website www.melissamccarthy.com in August.
