There may be some fashionable cities across the Great White North, but according to a survey conducted by the Global Language Moniter, London, England is the world’s capital when it comes to style.
Bumping New York to second place, the survey crowned its new monarch through tracking the frequency of fashion-related words, names and phrases seen in print, online and in social media.
According to the company’s spokesperson, “We are seeing waht the impact of two genuine media stars, Kate (Middleton) and Alexander McQueen can have upon a global ranking. Our numbers show that it was their presence that tipped the victory to London over New York.”
(But what about Pippa?!)
With the Big Apple safe and sound at number two, Paris, Milan and LA rounded out the top five, with Berlin and Singapore making the list as well. Montreal also made their debut at 49, followed by Caracas just squeeking in.
As for Toronto? We’re sitting pretty at 34 – nicely situated between Warsaw and Vienna.
