Jessica Simpson spent this past weekend getting healthy and trying out a few ancient Chinese remedies. The Price of Beauty host took to her Twitter page on Sunday to tell the world what it was like to be a vegan for a weekend.
“Shocked my system with a vegan diet, special Pu-erh tea from China, and cupping since Friday!” Simpson tweeted. Apparently cupping refers to an old Chinese practice of placing cups all over the body, like acupuncture (I know what you all were thinking… get your minds out of the gutter!). “Who am I right now? This might be too clean!”
The excited host has tried meditation before while vising the Middle East for her show, The Price of Beauty, but apparently things didn’t work out so well. This time around though, Simpson seemed quite happy with the results.
“Has anyone ever tried cupping? When u know you are doing something good for ur body the meditation creates intense visions. Love it!,” Simpson proclaimed. She also said that she worked with “Master Wang the Healer,” and posted up links to MedicineBuddha.com and ZenandTea.com.
She also stuck in her little disclaimer to ensure the world that she did not do this to lose weight (although, that might have just been an added bonus!). “Just so everyone is clear.. this has NOTHING to do with weight!” she continued. “It is about understanding my body through hydration and alkalinity.”
I’m not the biggest Jessica Simpson supporter, but it’s nice to see positive things going on in her life after years of failure and tabloid backlash. Good for you Jessica!
Would you try Simpson’s vegan weekend?
