Emma Watson’s post-Harry Potter career got off to the right start with her turn in My Week With Marilyn, and with Confessions Of A Wallflower coming out soon, she needed to round out her filmography with something a little more intense.
Enter: Beauty and the Beast, directed by Gullermo Del Toro, and Emma Watson who is in “final negotiations” for the lead role.
Written by Andrew Davies of the Bridget Jones series, the film will simply be titled Beast, and will probably lack Gaston, Lumiere and/or Cogsworth. However, considering Bridget Jones is famous for its witty premise and strong female lead, we can only hope that Emma Watson will be given a role that maintains the same.
The face of Lancome, Emma Watson walked the red carpet recently donning a red lace dress and matching red lipstick. And if you remember her talking about the campaign, it was the red lipstick she was most excited to design: “It was probably the product I was most excited about when I came aboard Lancé´me,” she had said. “I actually chose the color that I wore in shoot, which is a really bright red.”
Maybe it’s time to give Beauty and the Beast‘s modern-day heroine a little edge with some red lips, then.
