2016 has come to a close (hallelujah), and as we begin the new year there are plenty of entertaining things to look forward to in 2017. Case in point: the crowning of our favourite stars, TV shows and films. While we may be biased in our own selections, there are the committees and critics that have weighed in their top picks and predictions for the 2017 award season, and with that we shall reflect on the good and the snubs, with some past awards' memories that may seemingly repeat this coming season. From returning vets to a new slew of binge-worthy programming, the 2017 awards season has a stack of names and features that we're stoked to see the outcome of.
But before we get to this year's predictions, let's rewind and recall some of the most memorable moments from 2016.
As for the television department, key shows like Stranger Things, Westworld and Atlanta are among the contenders thought to win this year. But, wait, have you guys seen Goliath with Billy Bob Thornton? If not, do that, now. Then you can be happy when he wins best actor in a television series (although the category is stacked with talent, so this could be wishful thinking).
