Peplums
Peplums were on nearly every runway this past year. Designers, including Bottega Veneta, Kenzo and Alexander McQueen, proved that Fall 2012 was all about a nipped in waist and accentuated hip. The popularity of the peplum in both high fashion and high street iterations definitely has a lot to do with how flattering and the silhouette is on an array of different shapes and sizes.
Prediction: While peplums may not be in style next year (or even next month), don’t count on the nipped-in waist to go anywhere.
