Product Review: Marc Anthony Body Care Collection

What it is:

Marc Anthony Exotic Body Care collection which includes the following:
Body Washes at 500 ml – $8.99, Body Butters at 200 ml – $10.99, Body Lotions at 500 ml – $8.99, Dry Body Oils at 200 ml – $9.99, Hand Creams at 100 ml – $4.99, all available at Walmart Canada. The new line has three collections with key star ingredients: Argan Oil, Macadamia Oil and Tropical Coconut Oil. The body washes and come in flip top container. The body butters come in screw top containers. The body lotions come in pump top bottles. The dry oils are spray top containers and the hand creams have a flip top to open their containers.

What's in it that works:

Each product under each star ingredient is aimed at one of three key benefits: Argan Oil (of Morocco) is revitalizing and conditioning and provides 24 hours of moisture. Tropical Coconut Oil is nourishing, deeply moisturizing and offers 10x hydration. Macadamia oil is rejuvenating, healing and extra nourishing.

And the verdict is:

I've been a fan of the Marc Anthony hair care line for some years now, thanks to their genius curly hair products but I will admit I was truly skeptical when the body care line landed on my desk. I'm truly surprised and pleased that the line delivers on multiple levels. The body washes are sulfate free and all of the formulations, outside of their star ingredients, contain some of the following ingredients: chamomile, white tea, shea butter, aloe vera, hibiscus and vitamin E. They later well and leave behind the most wonderful scent on the skin (so far I've used the Macadamia Oil body wash). The body butters are rich and creamy and these formulas are perfect post-pedicure, as they hydrate skin immediately and intensely. After a good foot exfoliation, I found this to be the perfect solution to slather my feet and pop on some apres-pedi socks to help soak in all the nourishing benefits. The body lotions are, rather surprisingly, fast absorbing. I say surprisingly as, when pumped into your hands, the richness of the formula is immediately apparent. That, to me, means proper hydration that won't leave my legs and arms feeling slick and sticky come warmer weather. Lastly, the hand creams are lightweight and fast absorbing (ideal for a purse-friendly cream) and the Argan Oil scent is not at all overpowering, so as to compete with your perfume, and has been likened to smelling like "the Mediterranean" from more than one of my friends. The dry body oils are probably my favourite item in the line up. Having a non-greasy oil to apply to post-shave legs is one thing, but the sheen they leave behind is fantastic for this girl who is not yet ready to bare her pale legs to the world. Overall, this entire line has something for everyone, whether its formula or scent and all of them offer nourishing ingredients at rather friendly price points, considering competitor brands of this quality go for double the price of these skin care products.
