When nature comes back to life in the spring, it’s also time to freshen up your beauty look. And you don’t need to look any further than the spring 2017 runways to find your go-to look. Although there was still plenty of barely-there makeup and dewy skin, the runways provided more colour and drama than we’re used to seeing in recent years. And while plenty of the trends had a bit of a don’t-try-this-at-home vibe (hair sleeked back with what looks like lube isn’t going to be my look of the season), there were plenty of totally wearable looks that we can’t wait to experiment with. Here are a few of our favourites.
Lower- and under-lid embellishment
I haven’t rimmed my waterline in black since high school when that was my go-to look (I wanted to draw attention to my eyes, but I also fancied myself a rocker chic so it made sense). The look is back. But this time it’s smudged and lived in (if you’re using black) or all about glamour (if you want to experiment with colour and glitter). Beginners should take their cue from the Altuzzara show, where the rest of the makeup was minimal and the eyeliner was heavy-handed.
