Fall Skin Care Tips

Winter is on its way in a hurry. And with its bone chilling winds, it brings with it some seriously dry air (thanks excessive indoor heating) that can leave your skin looking dull and dry, ensuring all of the goodness the summer sun did for your skin is nothing more than a distant memory.

However, we’ve compiled some fall skin care tips to keep you looking refreshed and hydrated as the cold weather blows in:

1. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate¦.then exfoliate:
Drink plenty of water and invest in a great facial cream (yes ladies, time to put your lotion away and go with something a bit heavier offering more protection). And if you haven’t tried this before, spend some time in a sauna. It will help you sweat out toxins and impurities in your skin in no time and will open up your pores. Exfoliating is also a great way to clear away surface level dead skin and will keep you feeling soft. Just don’t forget to moisturize right afterward.

2. Facials
Invest in a few facials over the colder months. The extra care and attention you pay your skin over colder months will keep you looking refreshed. Nothing like a good steam and a mask suited for your skin type to leave you feeling like a million bucks.

3. Lips:
Stock up on good quality chapstick to keep your lips soft and smooth in the cold weather. There’s little worse then a set of dry, flaky lips so keep these moisturized regularly.

4. Hands:
Often the most overlooked area but one of the spots that does get most exposure to the elements. Invest in a great hand cream and while you are at it, don’t forget about other neglected spots like your cuticles, elbows and knees. When the summer rolls back around again, you’ll thank yourself for all the effort.

5. Soaps
Not all soaps are created equally so choose your soaps wisely. You might want to consider staying away from ones that have excessive drying agents and ones that are loaded down with fragrances with can irritate your skin.
